WAMATA, People in the fight against AIDS in Tanzania

Dr. Theresa Kaijage is a faculty member in Tanzania’s Institute of Social Work and is the founder of WAMATA , a grass roots Tanzanian non-governmental organization that works with people affected by HIV /AIDS. Kaijage a U.S.-trained professor and social worker, presents both the promise and shortcomings of the response to the disease in sub-Saharan Africa and especially in Tanzania, where women are among the most at-risk groups for infection.
